So once again I have run into a few computer/ television/live streaming/downloading issues which have required lots of my time to address. The first of which I have yet to resolve, is a problem with out Netflix. As of last week Netflix stopped working on all the televisions but it still works on the Ipads. Hmmm, that doesn’t make sense.
This wouldn’t be such a big deal except Tiara likes “Hannah time” which means she wants to watch old Hannah Montana episodes on TV all the time. Since out of the blue the connection is no longer working she can only watch on her ipad which can be problematic at times, especially if the battery is running low. The Ipad has been through so much abuse the past week, the “indestructible case” is falling apart at the seams.
Last Friday I decided to tackle this issue. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with AT&T universe while they kept resetting my internet receiver. Was the problem solved, NO! The connectivity issue went from an IP address issue to a subnet mask issue, which are apparently related items based on my Google search, but I really don’t understand how to find my mask number. At&T declared the problem was beyond their scope and transferred me to a paid service “to help me with my non AT&T connectivity issues”. Of course before they transferred me they forgot to mention it was an additional fee. After I spent 10 minutes trying to understand the technician who barely spoke English and who refused to just quickly quote me a direct price, I hung up on him. Enough is Enough!
Monday morning I woke up exhausted from hosting a dinner party for 16 people (my Mother in laws b-day) on Sunday, so I decided it was a great time to deal with all my computer crap, because I was too tired to do much else. I first started on the next item on my list which was figuring out how to separate Trinity’s nook account from my sister’s kids account. My parents bought all the kids nooks years ago and attached their credit card to the account and told the kids they could buy books and share with one another. At one point during the past year the credit card expired and one of my sister’s kids asked her to put in her credit card number.
This wasn’t really a problem because, my sister’s kids read non stop, and Trinity has only ever bought one book, so my sister didn’t have to pay for our books. As a result Trinity’s nook has sat uncharged in the bottom of her drawer gathering dust until Friday. I decided that since Tiara never lets me have a turn on my own Ipad I would steal Trinity’s nook and start using it for reading. I love borrowing books from the library but I have to hide them from Tiara so they don’t end up colored on and cut up. I have already paid for 2 books to date and am running out of hiding spots, so I decided the nook would be a safer option.
Friday I charged it and bought a book that had been recommended to a friend on Facebook. Well apparently my poor sister paid for my book because I didn’t know at the time my parents credit card was no longer attached to the account. I then realized I needed to figure out how to separate our accounts. In addition to the money stuff I didn’t want her kids reading my books as they may not be appropriate. I finally figured it and then I actually learned how to download free books from the library. As of right now I have 2 books on my newly acquired nook waiting for me to read them. So excited!
As for the Netflix issue I decided I had to write my post before I started calling people again. I will let you know tomorrow if I managed to get this fixed.
Happy Tuesday!

Awesome about the Nook and do hope you get the issues with ATT resolved. Sometimes as great as technology can be, it can still be a pain in the butt for moments like you described though!! Seriously though hoping you got the issues resolved 🙂 xoxo!!

I feel your pain! Can’t stand the tech stuff and my TV has sat in my room for almost a year unused because I don’t care about it enough to spend an hour on the phone with our cable company.
What books are you reading??? I’m SO picky and spent an hour at Barnes and Noble yesterday looking for a new read. Any recommendations?

I just finished reading “Me before you”, I loved it!

OMG. Finished that after xmas. Sooooo good. It’s so hard to find books that are real but have an underlying spirit of hope and love and goodness. Any other ideas?

Love that picture of you four girls! Just beautiful.
And I so agree. I have been having WordPress issues and it took forever to get it resolved last week.
Partly because Go Daddy wanted to blame my internet server and vice versa! All the back and forth was ridiculous. Just do your damn jobs people!

We have had our own headaches with U-verse so don’t get me started on that. I know what you mean. I had a list of little errands I had to take care of online today and it makes me crazy. You think it’s not going to take anytime — then it takes an entire afternoon. Great pic of you and the girls.
