Every morning I find myself doing the exact same disgusting thing and every time I do it, I ask myself, “Why do you keep doing this, Tiffani?” So what dumb thing do I do every morning and always regret?
Well, every morning Tiara wakes up with a really full diaper. I try to change it as soon as she gets up but there is always a fight about it. Once I get her on the ground and I change her diaper I always grab the pants she slept in try to decide if they are wet, smelly or fine for her to wear until after breakfast. So what do I do? I pick them up and smell the crotch and 99.9% of the time they reek of urine and I almost gag. I throw them in the hamper and get a new pair. Today when I put them up to my nose, they were actually wet and I got pee on my face. What the heck is wrong with me?
I think this goes back to when the other girls were babies. Remember when they would wake up early and want a bottle in their crib and you would check to see if they were wet? You felt their soft footie pajamas and hoped the diaper wasn’t soaked so you didn’t have to change them before trying to squeeze in a little more sleep.
I think this is a total mother thing. No Dad would smell the pajamas. They would put the stinky ones back on and not even notice they smelled or they would automatically put on a clean pair. I guess I am always trying to save myself on the laundry which is a pretty impossible task since Tiara wears at least 4 outfits each day. Oh Well!
As for my weekend, I had a REALLY GREAT one! Friday, Lou received some awesome news, which I can’t share with you today, but soon you will know. Just know things are finally moving in a better direction. This news had me on cloud nine Friday night and all day Saturday. In addition, Tabitha made Trinity’s life by inviting her to see Catching Fire on Friday night at 9pm. They didn’t get home until 11:30 at night and Trinity was just pleased as punch to be hanging with her big sister and her friend.
Oh forgot to mention what happened Friday afternoon. Trinity called her Grandma and asked her if she could come over and watch Tiara for a while so Trinity and I could go to the holiday boutique at she school, sans TT. She agreed and Trinity and I went to check out all the good stuff. I spent almost all my time at the Bowtique table. You know how I love to wear flowers in my hair all the time? I really wanted to buy this headband, shown below, but I decided I was too old for such a hip look. I tried it on and asked my Mom and Tabitha what they thought. My Mom laughed and said “where are you going to wear it, to Target?” Tabitha said, “go for it Mom, just wear it at home.” I decided I couldn’t afford to buy something I wouldn’t wear much even though is wasn’t expensive, I think it was $20?
I kept trying on every flower, clip and headband as if I was making a huge purchase. So ridiculous of me, but I am so frugal with myself right now.
Either way I ended up buying the nude colored flower in this picture and Kirsten the owner of Bowtique, gave me this teal one for free. You can find all her great hair accessories on her website or at her etsy shop. I have added the links for you.
I think she felt bad for me since I was balking about spending less than $10 on myself. I was so excited, I promised to mention her in my blog to day as a way of thanking her extra.
I was then approached by some girls selling raffle tickets. I walked by the raffle table and saw Kirsten had donated 3 headbands to the raffle. OMG, I need to win those. I bought 5 tickets and put them all in her box. Trinity and I left even though I felt as if I was going to win. Tabitha called me 30 minutes later and said YOU WON, MOM ! YAY! So I got 3 beautiful headbands on this beautiful satin holder all for a $5 donation to the school ! Yay me!
Lately Saturday mornings have been a really special time for Trinity and I because Tiara has a caretaker from 10am to 2pm. Every Saturday Trinity and I do errands together, eat lunch, sometimes walk around Balboa or just spend alone time talking and laughing. We bought Trinity some new material for her crafting and she has been holed up in her room working all weekend. Sewing, building, crafting, she is a girl on a mission. I have never seen her so engaged in an activity.
Saturday night we had another round of GREAT news but once again I can’t share until given the green light. This news was even more exciting than Friday’s news. Sorry about all the secrecy but sadly I can’t put everyone’s life on the internet the minute I find out information, such a bummer.
So for once I had a really happy weekend and I am hoping this will carry through to Thanksgiving!
Hope you had a great weekend yourself!
