Where have I been?

Aug. 12, 2013

tiffani goff at home

If you are a regular reader you probably noticed I didn’t post Thursday or Friday last week.  In the past if I skipped a post it was usually because I was beyond busy.  This time I wasn’t over the top busy or on vacation, I just didn’t feel like posting.

But Why?

As much as I share with all of you  there is so much more going on in my life that I am not at liberty to talk about, because it involves other members of my family or my relationship with the other members.  Either way, when the private stuff overwhelms the stuff I can go public with I have a hard time writing because I can’t really say what I really want.  So you see a bunch of crap has been going on in our lives and I can’t tell you what it is so instead of talking about another Tiara attack, I just decided to remain quiet.  Frustrating for us both!

What I can tell you is my Mother in law is moving into a nice house a mile away and I am super excited for her.  I have been helping her a little each day which makes me really happy because it gives me a new space to dream up ideas for.  I love taking people’s furniture and moving them around to be more functional and look better.  My favorite trick is to take an eat in kitchen area or dining room and make it a small family room.  Right now she has a beautiful kitchen with a large dining area attached to it.  Next to that area is a great seating area which no one every goes into or uses.  So why not put your dining table into the less used room so you are forced to use it?  That is what I did in our home.  The family room was originally the eating area, I just switched the rooms and now every inch of our home is utilized.

Anyways back to my life…..

Tiara is doing fine aside from her continued outbursts of violence.

Trinity had a great week at rowing camp and really wore herself out each day which was great for me.

Tabitha has transformed herself from a live and die junk food consumer to a health conscience person.  I can’t even express how happy this makes me.  A month ago she declared she would never be one of those people who “worried about eating healthy all the time.  I hate those people, I will never be like!”  As Louie taught me 23 years ago, Never say Never!  And now?  She isn’t obsessed but she has figured out how to still be 20, go out and have fun and continue to lose weight slowly.  A small miracle.

The most amazing part is her skin has transformed itself in a week.  She has always had amazing skin but the past few months it wasn’t looking great for her.  Since she cut out the sugar and carbs she is absolutely glowing and doesn’t have a blemish on her face.  People seem to be commenting daily on her skin not her weight loss.

FYI: The reason Tabitha needed to lose weight is because she never learned how to adapt her eating after being a serious athlete in high school.  In school she worked out 3 to 4 hours a day with her volleyball team and once she graduated that all stopped.  As you can imagine going from that intense exercise routine to walking or taking a short run a few times a week doesn’t really cut it.  I have done a little research on this topic and apparently it is big issue for lots of high school athletes who don’t continue their sports into college.

And how am I doing on the diet?  Yeah, I weigh the exact same as when I started and nothing much has changed.  I don’t think my body is meant to eat so much meat so I am back to what I always eat, salads, some fruit, protein and a few sweets here and there.  I did switch from cows milk to coconut milk which they say is better for a person, but really doesn’t taste as good.  I have finally realized that I must have my sweets once in a while and until I give up my nightly wine consumption my poochy belly will never disappear.  I have weighed the poochy belly against the wine and have decided the wine wins!

Life is too short to try and look perfectly fit at my age with my life.  I look good enough for myself and my hubby so who cares!  Normal women in their 40’s have poochy bellies, well maybe not in Newport Beach but in the rest of the country they do.  As Louie always tells me, “Stop worrying about it Tiffani, If you get fat you will be the cutest fat lady around and right now you aren’t fat, so just stop and eat a cupcake!”  Gotta love that man!

And last but not least, my house hasn’t sold!  Yes I am still cleaning and worrying and no one seems to want my beautiful home which is bumming me out.  As my agent and everyone else keeps telling me, ” You need to be patient, it will happen.”  Guess what?   I hate being patient.  I only have patience for Tiara and no one else.

So I am back and I hope you had a great weekend!

Happy Monday!

xoxo tiffani

Good to see you back, but totally understand why you took a bit of a break last week. Sometimes, we just have more going on that we can’t share and why try to skirt the issue. Good for you and yay to Tabitha on her weight loss. Truly awesome!! 🙂 xoxo!!

Beautiful girls and mommy. Sorry about tt’s violence, deb has been blessed to either be very social or what I call indifferent. The only things that really cause a reaction are extreme loud music and babies crying ( hypersensitive hearing). She’s about tt’s size, maybe bigger and very strong so I can just imagine. I love your blog and I hope everything works out with the family issues. Keep pushing…have a great day:)

Tabitha looks absolutely beautiful. I understand about having to keep some things private. I too have things I’m going through that I wish I could just yell from the keys but can’t.
I’m glad to see you back mama.
    Hope you are doing ok.

Who is tiffani?

Mom, Wife, author of Loving Tiara, retired home stager, and chronic volunteer. I laugh when I'm happy, nervous, or stressed, so basically, I'm always laughing, and you can hear me from down the block if the windows are open. I love to swear even though it isn't ladylike, and I'm brutally honest, but in a super nice way, or so I think? I tend to roll my eyes, and apparently, my face is very expressive because even when I don't open my mouth, everyone knows what I'm thinking. My hubby and I are homebodies; I'm obsessed with always doing the "right thing " and taking care of my skin. I love learning, am always trying to evolve as a human being, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Let's have some fun! xoxo tiffani
