So today Tiara is scheduled to have a root canal, a prior root canal fixed and several cavities filled while under anesthesia at Choc. I am super happy she is getting this dental work done because her teeth have been bothering her but what is killing me is SHE IS SCHEDULED TO HAVE THIS DONE AT 2:00 P.M.!
If you have ever had your child put under anesthesia you know that means that CAN’T EAT anything 8 hours prior to the procedure, nor drink anything 4 hours prior. How I am going to accomplish keeping her away from food from the moment she wakes up until the afternoon, I literally have no idea and the thought of it is freaking me out. I try to live one moment at a time but I admit that I am counting the moments until Thursday night and praying I will survive the ordeal.
I just called the dentist’s office to see if anyone ahead of her had cancelled or gotten sick so she might have a hope of getting her appointment moved up. There is a small chance it could happen so I am going to pray for a miracle.
And no, Lou won’t be with me because he works open to close today. My plan is too wake her up at 5:30 am, give her some toast and her medicine. Then stalk her around the house so she can’t eat anything and then take her for an early morning walk. Hopefully she will be tired after the walk and go to sleep. Her caretaker is coming at 10am to help me and we have to be at the hospital by noon so I should be safe at the hospital. Keeping my fingers crossed!
If she is going crazy my back up plan is to give her some Ativan. So wish me luck and hopefully you will find out how it went on Friday. I may not be able to post if we get home too late since the procedure may last 3 hours, so if not Friday, you will know on Monday.
Have a great day!
