Welcome to the Goff House…

Jan. 07, 2013

I can’t tell you how great it feels to be home with Tiara.  We finally got released from the hospital on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and when we drove up to the house, I could see from the driveway that something was posted on our front door.   “What the heck is that?”  I thought to myself.  Once I approached the door while helping Tiara inside, I saw this amazing sign hanging in place of our normal wreath.

oxygen

Looks like the oxygen had already been delivered and Tabitha thought it was a good idea to post the warning on our front door.  Once we got inside, Tiara started screaming in excitment and had to walk through every room yelling and cheering.

Me:  “Hey Tab, why did you put that sign on the door?”

Tab:  “Well, Mom I don’t want our house to blow up if someone decides to smoke for some reason.  What if there was a fire and the fire department came to rescue our house and they didn’t realize Tiara had her oxygen tank in the house?”

Me:  “Thinking that is a little paranoid, since I don’t know anyone who smokes except a few of your friends and I am certain they aren’t going to light up a cigarette in our house.  But if you insist, we will leave it up.”

I actually think it is pretty funny, it puts everyone on notice that they are entering a crazy place.

The sign should probably read, “watch for flying objects being hurled by Tiara, or hard stools that have rolled out of a diaper and onto the ground.   All visitors are solely responsible for any injury received to one’s body or damage to any clothing, received while  visiting our humble home.”

As soon as we got home, I gave Tiara a shower and was in the process of doing her medicine when Tabitha called me, even though I had just watched her leave the house 2 minutes beofre.

Me:  “Hey, what’s wroing, did you forget something/”

Tab:  “NO, go outside right now and look at the mailbox.”

Me:  “Tab, I am in the middle of something, can’t it wait?”

Tab:  “No, Mom, go now while you are on the phone with me.”

I walk out barefoot in the freeezing cold and what do I see?  Our entire mailbox smashed and crushed.

Me:  ”  What the heck happened to our mailbox?”

mailbox

Tab:  “I know, it’s crazy!  I guess someone really hates you Mom!”

Me:  ” More like someone hates you, Tabitha.”  I am pretty sure one of your cool driving friends with a utility vehicle accidentally did that since they all park right by the mailbox.

The good news is that they didn’t bend the pole, so we just had to buy a new 21$ mailbox, but I am sure their car suffered more damage than $21.  OUCH!  I mean there is never a dull moment in our house.

thinking she doesn’t look 10!

So in the 8 days Tiara was in the hospital nothing much changed except that Trinity somehow turned into a 10 year old teenager who walks around texting on her cell phone and or playing games on her ipad.  She spent most of her time with Tabitha eating fast food and getting her nails done or being spoiled by my Mom, who took her to the movies twice, shopping for new clothes days after Christmas and out to Bandera for dinner.  Hard life!  She was a little shell shocked today because I made her clean her room and read a book, sorry babe, but Mom is back!  She quickly took off to visit her friend down the street and managed to play there all day since she knew she had to help me take down all the Christmas stuff if she came home.

My parents showed up to help and we managed to get everything down including the outside lights and my Dad was in heaven because it was so quick and easy.  Unlike my Mom, I just throw all the decorations and lights into tubs without any type of organization and then toss them in the attic.

I am happy to report the decorations are done, the house is clean, the laundry is done and dinner is made!  Tiara spent most the day sleeping, which explains how all this got accomplished, but I am feeling so happy to be back home.  Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes made to Tiara during her illness, it always helps and makes us both feel better.

xoxo tiffani

Who is tiffani?

Mom, Wife, author of Loving Tiara, retired home stager, and chronic volunteer. I laugh when I'm happy, nervous, or stressed, so basically, I'm always laughing, and you can hear me from down the block if the windows are open. I love to swear even though it isn't ladylike, and I'm brutally honest, but in a super nice way, or so I think? I tend to roll my eyes, and apparently, my face is very expressive because even when I don't open my mouth, everyone knows what I'm thinking. My hubby and I are homebodies; I'm obsessed with always doing the "right thing " and taking care of my skin. I love learning, am always trying to evolve as a human being, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Let's have some fun! xoxo tiffani
