This is going to be a very quick update because I am super sick and feel miserable. Last night I felt achy all night and didn’t sleep and Tiara seemed to feel the same. I felt like I was jumping up to check on her every few minutes as a result I was a zombie in the morning.
In the morning we found out she tested positive for the influenza and that is when I realized I had more than allergies, but I too had the flu.
She seemed really happy and energetic in the morning and the whole team was hopeful we could go home Thursday afternoon. By the early afternoon I realized Tiara was getting worse as evidenced by the fact she needed oxygen while awake and spent most of the day sleeping.
She vomited twice, both of which I think were seizures because her body temperature dropped to 95. She also had at least 5 other seizures. The attending physician who I have dealt with before decided to take her off the IV antibiotics because she had the flu. As I discussed my concerns with him he was offended that I was questioning his decision. Whatever, I was a little annoyed that he didn’t think I had a right to question him but I played nice because I know I will be dealing with him in the morning.
The Pulmonary doctor stopped by and was really great and researched some tests I learned about on the tsalliance community Facebook page which are required to diagnose LAM and is eager to order them for Tiara once she is well.
Hoping today is our last day but not feeling super hopeful that is going to happen.

Oh you poor things! Feel better soon, dahlings! You’ll have to fill me in on what the tests are for when you get home. I know it’s sick of me to say this, but at least she’s sleeping and not beating you up!!!
You’re doing great for having a flu. Any 24 hour bug my daughter brings home lands me in bed with a horrific evening/overnight fever of 102.9 for several hours before it breaks to a low grade fever. Kids are petri dishes. They get better and their parents get annihilated and, speaking for myself, I feel far worse for the wear!
I hope you all feel better! We haven’t had the flu but we’ve all been passing around a 24 hour bug in our home. I feel like I Lysol the damn house everyday and we still get sick. I think a HUGE spring cleaning is in our future…maybe that will help. Over here, it’s the weather. it goes from 55 degrees one day to 30 the next…snow, sun, rain, snow, sun… Frustrating!
