We are HOME!!!

Apr. 15, 2013

We busted out of the hospital on Sunday afternoon after I pretended Tiara was eating, drinking and able to breath room air.  I started planning our exit on Saturday night and forced Tiara to take part of her meds by mouth even though she would rather have them put down the NJ tube just so I could prove she was able to do it.  I then started brainwashing the nurses and the residents that Tiara was ready to leave on Sunday.

Tiara started to foil my plans when her oxygen kept dropping on Sunday morning at 5am.  She kept dropping from 82-86 every few minutes.  I kept acting like it wasn’t a big deal and maybe the pulse oxygen reader wasn’t working.  Once the attending physician showed up in the morning I plead our case and she said that we were free to go as long as pulmonary released us.  I turned off her oxygen and had her breathing room air even though every few minutes she would slowly desat.  I think I was really started to get stir crazy in there.  When the pulmonary doctor came in she was at 95 and while he was examining her she dropped to 84.  Oh no.  I tried to pretend it wasn’t a good wave form and he told me it was a good wave form and an accurate reading.  My response:  ” but her coloring looks good, she isn’t blue for anything.”  Clearly I was getting desperate at this point.  He responded ” Well, she would need to drop to the 70’s to look blue.”

He then said, ” Since you have oxygen at home and she you know how to take care of her, you can take her home today.  Just keep her on oxygen 24 hours a day for the next few days and spot check her with the pulse ox reader to make sure she is Ok.”    Me:  “YES, THANK YOU!”  Tabitha and Lei showed up with the portable oxygen tank and helped us pack up.

We were out of there by 2pm.  She really is still rather sick and has slept most of the day but I feel really happy we are home and I can tell she is doing great being back home.

Thank you for all the prayers and love!

xoxo tiffani

YAY!!!! Sometimes people are so happy to be home that their condition begins improving much better than at the hospital! You know how to take care of her at home. You’re a real trooper, Tiffani! Get well and back to normal soon, Tiara! Hugs and kisses!!!

Who is tiffani?

Mom, Wife, author of Loving Tiara, retired home stager, and chronic volunteer. I laugh when I'm happy, nervous, or stressed, so basically, I'm always laughing, and you can hear me from down the block if the windows are open. I love to swear even though it isn't ladylike, and I'm brutally honest, but in a super nice way, or so I think? I tend to roll my eyes, and apparently, my face is very expressive because even when I don't open my mouth, everyone knows what I'm thinking. My hubby and I are homebodies; I'm obsessed with always doing the "right thing " and taking care of my skin. I love learning, am always trying to evolve as a human being, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Let's have some fun! xoxo tiffani
