I have 3 tween girls (2 of which clearly have ADHD) in my kitchen trying to agree on how to organize and conduct their eco vs. chemcials cleaning project for science class. I am trying to keep quiet and say nothing but my stomach is forming knots. I usually let Trinity do all her group projects completely on her own but if you are a mother of girls you know that 3 girls is not a good combination, so I am having to hold my tongue and put weights on my legs to keep me from getting and organizing the whole thing myself.
They are cleaning my house with the products they are making, which could be good except they have now decided to devise their own recipes and stray from the ones provided online and randomly try them throughout my house. I figure they can’t destroy much more than Tiara does on a daily basis and maybe they will even get something clean? Hoping.
I did just peek into the kitchen and I now doubt my house will be cleaner than when they arrived.
The entire kitchen counter is covered in products. Hmmmm.
Ok, now I am having heart palpitations. One of them wants to make a 5th concoction, a natural toilet bowl cleaner.
me: I yell in a nice voice from the computer. “If you are going to make the toilet bowl cleaner then you have to clean my toilet. Don’t keep making stuff for fun and then not use it.”
Silence.
trinity: “I’m not cleaning the toilet.”
her friend: “I’ll clean the toilet,” she says enthusiastically.
me: “Great.”
Weird but I haven’t seen anyone go in and clean the toilet and I haven’t heard them talking about that type of cleaner anymore. I guess she changed her mind. Bummer for me.
And now for the good news! Today is officially our 22 anniversary and we (JUST THE TWO OF US) are going overnight to a friend’s beach house in Newport. We will be gone approximately 16 hours but I am sure it will feel like 48 hours. We are so excited and super grateful to these friends for offering us their home and to my mother in law who is willing to spend the night with TT. She is the only brave sole we know who will watch TT overnight.
Yay us! Happy Weekend everyone.
