I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend even though I can’t quite claim the same. I feel as if I haven’t written a post in forever but nothing new or great has been happening around my home, just more of the same. Well that isn’t entirely true, but you can judge for yourself. I have written several posts in my head but none of them have made it on the computer until now.
Tiara is sick again and I had to put her back on antibiotics. I suspect she caught a cold from her caretaker since Erin texted me on Friday and said she was sick and not sure if she should come on Saturday. I told her not to show up no matter what in case she had a different virus than the one TT already had. As a result Tiara was off her routine, and I was the one who suffered. She tore my tank top off Saturday night in a fit of rage, I have about 10 new fingernail gouges up and down my arms and my body aches from manhandling her. Just another day in the life of a parent to a special needs kid when you mess with their schedule or they feel sick.
On another note, I have been dying to tell you all the exciting stuff that has been going on with the house, but I can’t! I am so used to telling you everything and it is very frustrating not to be able to take you through every emotional up and down of selling our home. Sadly, I can’t reveal anything about the buyers because clearly they didn’t sign up to have their house deal spread over the internet and it is pretty impossible to negotiate when I am blabbing every thought on my blog. I will give you a hint that everything seems to be progressing along as we expected and I am hopeful it will continue that way. Even in the best case scenario selling a home and looking for another is rather hellish and beyond stressful.
I am not even sure if I mentioned to you but Tabitha went to Alaska last week with Nicole, one of her best friend’s, to visit Nicole’s Dad. They stayed in one of those fancy tents that you can cook in and have a fire in but the funny part was she had no idea she would be sleeping in a tent until she arrived. Tabitha is not one to gather all the details. She has a serious nature girl side that most people don’t know about and as a result she had a fabulous time. She learned to shoot a gun and of course was beyond a natural. Tabitha can do anything that involves any degree of athleticism or precision. They also went fishing and she caught tons of fish. This lucky Momma now has a freezer full of Swordfish.
On the downside, she gotten eaten alive by bugs and once she got home they were all red and swollen. She decided she needed to go to the walk in clinic on Wednesday night after work. Low and behold the doctor said they were all infected and she was at risk of getting cellulitis, which is very dangerous. He put her on antibiotics and said if they didn’t improve she needed to come right back. So typical of our family. Luckily they have improved and she is on the mend.
That same night I felt this really sore spot in the top of my head. It hurt like an ingrown hair and I spent lots of time trying to look at the top of my head from every angle to see what was there. Lou and Tabitha both said it looked like a pimple but it really hurt. In the middle of the night I woke up and the base of my head was really sore and there were two bumps there which were really tender. I showed Tabitha the new bumps in the morning and she declared I was dying and needed to go to the walk in clinic immediately but I wasn’t convinced it was that bad. I decided to wait it out and see what happened.
Tiara’s caretaker came for 4 hours on the 4th of July, so Lou and I had all that time to ourselves. Serious treat! We rode our bikes to lunch and then around town. We stopped at a friend’s house and I asked my favorite ER doc friend about my head. He said it looked like the ingrown hair had become infected and was draining causing my lymph nodes at the base of my skull to become enlarged. Really all from a silly ingrown hair? He offered to give me antibiotics or said I could wait a day and see if it got better on it’s own. I decided to wait it out and for once the problem resolved itself without medicine. Yay me! We are such a freak show family, always a new medical crisis!
Have a great Monday!

Loved all the pictures of Tabitha and sounds like she had a blast. And trust me we had a busy 4th of July weekend, too and I have my husband home today for one more day. SO trying to catch up while he and my older daughter sleep and my younger one watches Mickey Mouse. Glad the house stuff is going good and totally understand and about the over sharing, but just keeping fingers crossed that the rest will continue to go smoothly now!! 🙂 xoxo!!

Aside from all the bugs it looks like Tabitha’s trip was amazing. And what … that is crazy that you caught your tank top being ripped off on camera. I hope TT is feeling better soon so she can get back to a routine.
