If you are a subscriber to my blog, I hope this arrived in your email inbox today. If not, clearly I have another issue to fix. I posted on Monday and Tuesday and apparently Mail Chimp claims they sent out my feed but I never received the email, nor did anyone else as far as I know, so I am hoping it worked today. Fingers crossed.
I took Wednesday off again because I was feeling beyond stressed yesterday. We are dealing with house issues again, I had Trinity’s IEP to prepare for, Lou had 2 MRI’s for his back and the wind sent me over the edge. You know I hate wind, because of my allergies.
The good news is that the IEP went really well and after hearing what the school district would offer Trinity to deal with her “processing issue” (this is what she wants it to be called) we have determined St. Joachim’s, her current school, is fully equipped to give her the support she needs. I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. I was panicking about changing schools or possibly having to put her back in the public school system for junior high. I know my child would get eaten alive in that environment.
After the IEP I realized I had time to walk with my friend which I didn’t think was going to happen. I got in the car, texted her and she was still available. I put down my phone, looked behind me, saw a big beige suburban farther back and started to back up. CRUNCH! Ohhh, apparently I hit a car. I pulled back into the spot, got out and saw I had backed into an older beige sedan with lots of paint missing and numerous bumps and scraps. I looked at the woman and I felt horrible. She slowly looked over at me and I was mouthing “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.” She slowly got out of her car, walked over and looked at her car and said, “It’s fine.” She then started back towards the driver side door when I said, “I’m really sorry, do you want to exchange information?” She looked at me with big dark sad eyes and said “No.”
I assumed she didn’t have insurance and her car was already such a mess she didn’t care, but I felt really bad. She seemed so sad and it wasn’t because I backed into her car, it was something so much bigger.
As for my car, it has a big mark and a slight dent. But what’s new? This is the 3rd time I’ve hit either a car or a stationary object while backing up from a parking spot. Guess what, I have a back up camera, but clearly I’m not really good at using it. If only that was my biggest problem.
I went home and Lou was folding the huge pile of laundry I left on the couch and didn’t seem super happy. I immediately started talking about the IEP and almost forgot about the car until I was leaving for my walk.
me: “Oh, by the way I backed into a car this morning.”
him: Stunned…”Oh, really? Are you OK?”
me: “I’m fine, but I have a big white scrape on my car.”
him: Eye brows raised…. ” Did you exchange information?”
me: “No, she didn’t want to and it was my fault.”
him: “Ok then, glad you are ok.”
me: “Bye, off for my walk.” He just shook his head, gave me a kiss and gave me his fake goofy smile which means I am a total mystery to him and I never cease to amaze him.
After I realized I had time to walk and texted my friend, I totally forgot about the WIND. I knew I shouldn’t walk in such horrible weather, but I really needed some exercise and a free therapy session from my friend so I decided to go anyway, but not without protection. I wore one of the medical masks I keep on hand for when I garden. I had Erin take a picture of me in my get up because I knew it would crack you up. Yes I am a huge dork, but I don’t care and yes I always wear this when I garden.
Boy was it hot and windy, but I survived!
And last but not least another picture to make you laugh. While Tiara and I were eating lunch she was wearing this purple headband on her head. She is always grabbing random headbands, bows and flowers and sticking them in her hair. When I looked at her closer I realized it wasn’t a purple headband but my purple underwear she grabbed from the couch! I have to say they look good as a headband.
Have a great day!
