Seriously, this Thanksgiving weekend felt like it was a month long with Saturday and Sunday lasting 3 of the 4 weeks. We just got home from our normal Sunday lunch at Fashion Island and I barely survived the car ride home. Just before we left the mall, Tiara pushed back her wheelchair and ran over Trinity’s foot. Trinity started screaming at Tiara and then stole the front seat once we got to the car. Tiara got in the backseat behind her and started saying ” I hate you, I hate you!”
I have advised Trinity a million times to ignore Tiara when she says stuff like this, because then she will stop. If you respond to her rude comments she gets even more riled up and won’t stop. Well, Trinity was in a mood and started screaming back “I JUST CAN’T TAKE IT!!! I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU!” I kept thinking Tiara was going to pull Trinity’s hair because she kept flinging her head super close to Tiara’s face but fortunately that didn’t happen.
Hummm, luckily we made it home and Trinity stormed into the house and started yelling at Tabitha who didn’t make it to lunch or church. Tabitha’s high school friends are in town for Thanksgiving and she had a very late night last night, so she slept through both events. Seriously, I hate when her friends come back home, I lose more sleep than normal. Love her friends, but hate the partying and late nights.
Anyway, Tiara walked into house went to her bedroom and grabbed a play cutting board and came out and appeared as if she was going to chuck it at her sisters. They all started screaming and Tabitha and Trinity tried to pull the board out of her hands while I was sitting there watching. I knew Tiara was going to beat the crap out of them any minute so I had to intervene and grab the board. I then sent both Tabitha and Trinity to their rooms to clean and they both ignored me. I then stormed into kitchen looking for something to make me feel better. I exclaimed “I feel like a need a bottle of chocolate even though I am not hungry!”
Tab: ” A bottle of chocolate, Mom, really I think mean some Bailey’s!”
Me: ” It is only 2pm so I can’t drink alcohol so I guess I will have to eat this caramel.”
Tab: “Hey Mom, wouldn’t that be funny if you started drinking and got really drunk and Dad came home and found you in the corner sitting there with a bottle? I bet the house would be burning down around you.”
Me: “Such a lovely vision, Tabitha . STOP Procrastinating and go clean your room!”
Trinity had gone to her room to clean and returned within in a minute declaring she was hungry. Another procrastinator!
They finally both retreated to their pig styes and by some miracle by Mother in Law showed up to play with Tiara.
Now on to my issue. My house is a disaster and I am super frustrated with the money making aspect of my blog. I keep trying to make a shopping page for all the companies I am affiliated with but since I don’t like to shop or buy stuff the task has become overwhelming. I also have been making less money again this month and I have had a record number of visitors so it doesn’t make sense. I am not sure what I am doing wrong? Super frustrated!
PHONE CALL…..
As I was just complaining to all of you about my silly problem my Mom just called and told me someone I have known since I was 12 passed away on Friday. This person and I took ballet together for years and she was always kind and loving but she suffered her whole life from a serious eating disorder. She was married and never had children of her own but was a wonderful auntie to the many children in her life. The anorexia wasn’t the direct cause of her death but I blame the anorexia. I HATE ANOREXIA! I have seen this disease hurt people I love dearly and it drives me crazy when I see our society praising the super thin and anorexic movie stars. I know anorexia is really about CONTROL or rather trying to control an element of your life by not eating thereby making yourself feel better, but it doesn’t work. They don’t feel better, they feel miserable and once you become anorexic it is so hard to go back.
I am mad and really sad for everyone who loved this woman. I hope she has finally found peace.
As we move from Thanksgiving into Christmas remember this is a really hard time for many people. If you have people in your life who are depressed, don’t have family or are suffering from illness or mental disease, be there for these people. Don’t let the hustle and bustle of the holidays keep you from remembering what is most important about life. People are important not things. Call up those who are suffering, invite them over, give a bagel to the homeless guy on the corner, bring cookies to a convalescent home and visit the elderly. Despite what society tells us, life is about giving not receiving. Be a giver of love and support this season, not just gifts.

Hi Tiff,
Loved your post an EXTRA lot today:) Loved the dialogue you shared about the girls. Real life can be so damn funny….Tabitha has your sense of humor, hilarious!
My sincere sympathy for the loss of your friend, she had to be young….much to young to go:( Yes, I hope she has found her peace.
And I love what you wrote about the holidays. Its a mixed bag for most of us, even if we are in a good place. Your heartfelf words were right on. Thanks for that reminder:)
Keep up the good work!!
Here’s to surviving the chaos, and enjoying some fun along the way.
