Super weird side effect from a new seizure medication

Sep. 20, 2012

Last month, Tiara’s neurologist prescribed her a new seizure medication that just came on the market, called Potiga.  Even though Tiara is only having a few seizures each day, which is super fabulous for her, she is so sedated she can’t do much until the afternoon each day.  Our plan was to add this…

A crayon fundraiser for Tiara!!!

Sep. 18, 2012

This past Saturday morning Tiara had a big surprise. Avalon, a 6th grader at Newport Heights Elementary, my Alma mater, came over to our house with her Mom, Gina and brought with them boxes and boxes and boxes of crayons.  WOW!  Tiara was so excited she kept saying “thank you, thank you, your welcome,…

Do you think it is rude to send a thank you note via email or text?

Sep. 14, 2012

Now that my birthday is over, I have a few thank you notes to write and I am contemplating how to get them done.  I grew up super old school, where a written thank you note was to be sent within 2 days of receiving any gift.  I tried to teach my children the…

Who do you look like?

Sep. 12, 2012

My whole life, everyone has told me I looked like my Dad.  We both had blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin as opposed to my Mom and sister’s big brown eyes and darker complexion.  Funny enough about 7 years ago, I had to start wearing glasses to read and realized I didn’t look…

I hate feeling like this!!!

Sep. 06, 2012

I hate when I feel just blah.  I am pretty sure it is hormonally related because now that I am on my 7th month of blogging I am noticing a pattern with my moods.  Maybe it is the weather?  I mean how muggy and gross can it get?  Trinity got out of school at noon…

Just when I thought it was getting better, everything went back to normal

Sep. 05, 2012

So, I have to say this weekend, which I was dreading, turned out to have some really surprising high points.  Trinity and I took Tiara to Target and the market on Friday, two public places in one day, is really pushing it, and at both places, she actually walked, wasn’t in her wheelchair, and…

Are you excited for the first day of school?

Sep. 04, 2012

Normally, I would be so thrilled for the first day of school, the return to a solid routine,  but I am not sure I am so excited about the routine.  For starters Trinity’s first week of school, isn’t really a full week of school.  They go from 8 until noon, Why?  I have…

Were you ever bullied in school?

Aug. 28, 2012

I was bullied a little in 5th and 7th grade and now that Trinity is getting ready to start 5th grade next week I was thinking back to those times.  Not great memories, but they probably serve a purpose in helping me guide my girls through all the junk kids endure at school.  …

Have you ever had to rescue someone at the beach?

Aug. 22, 2012

So today a near miracle occurred.  Lou had the day off, and we have a new caretaker who just started, provided by the Regional Center, who is really eager to learn but still very green.  With that in mind, Lou took Trinity to beach volleyball camp, I took Tiara for a walk and then…

What happened to your butt?

Aug. 21, 2012

I hate to admit this but Lou and I have gotten really old, or at least I bodies feel old.  Lou is always complaining about his back and neck hurting, especially after he has spent a few hours alone with Tiara.  As a result, a few months ago, while at Target, I saw some…

Who is tiffani?

Mom, Wife, author of Loving Tiara, retired home stager, and chronic volunteer. I laugh when I'm happy, nervous, or stressed, so basically, I'm always laughing, and you can hear me from down the block if the windows are open. I love to swear even though it isn't ladylike, and I'm brutally honest, but in a super nice way, or so I think? I tend to roll my eyes, and apparently, my face is very expressive because even when I don't open my mouth, everyone knows what I'm thinking. My hubby and I are homebodies; I'm obsessed with always doing the "right thing " and taking care of my skin. I love learning, am always trying to evolve as a human being, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Let's have some fun! xoxo tiffani
