Well, it is 4:20 on Sunday and I am in such a crappy mood I can’t think of anything creative to say about Veteran’s Day. The only thought that keeps coming to mind is “Hey People, Veterans day isn’t just for getting a discount at the mall!”
It is the day we thank and honor those who have served to protect our freedom! THANK YOU VETERAN’S!
It may be apparent, but I am in a foul mood and this is why. Nothing big, just the regular stuff that builds up.
The day started out a little off because I got up early and went down to the Balboa Pavilion to take down the 3000 twinkle lights I put up on Saturday for the St. Joachim Monte Carlo benefit. The guy who helped us set up said the maintenance crew would be in there by 8am on Sunday cleaning up so I could get in to take down the lights. Of course I couldn’t wait until 8am because I wanted to get it done as soon as possible so I sped down there at 7:00 am and it wasn’t opened. I mean how stupid of me! Why would I think they would be down there on a Sunday at 7am cleaning? OK, guess I will just go home and come back later.
I then realized it was one of my friend’s birthdays and she loves my fudge. Hey, I will swing by the market and pick up the ingredients so I can make her a batch before church. When I got home, Lou told me that my Dad’s car wouldn’t start so I better call him. My Dad watches Tiara while we go to church and then we all go out to lunch. I already knew our lunch plans weren’t happening because my parents had something else to do and I was dreading the change in schedule. Tiara loves to go out to lunch on Sunday with the family. I called the house and my Mom said she wanted to cancel going to church because of the car and she didn’t want to disappoint Tiara with not going to lunch. OK, fine.
I told Trinity we weren’t going to church, so got really mad and tried to convince me to bring Tiara. She almost won and then I realized I mentally wasn’t up for a tantrum at 10:00 am mass, so we had to skip.
Good News though, now that Tabitha was awake I could go back to the Pavilion and take down the lights. Tabitha, Trinity and I had a pow wow and decided we were going to take some cool pictures of the girls at the ENC after I did the lights. They were going to pick out some fun outfits while I finished the lights.
I went and took down the lights and it only took me 45 minutes, which was super good. I wish I had a picture of the lights to show you, but of course I didn’t attend the benefit so I don’t have a photo. Being away from the house for 4 hours to set up was too long for one day, plus Lou had to work, so I couldn’t go.
In the meantime I decided we should have a BBQ for Veterans day. I invited the family over for dinner but only my parents could come. Oh well, some is better than none.
Once I got home the girls had picked out their clothes for the pictures and Trin was all dressed in her purple party dress. Tab said she needed a bagel and would be right back. An hour later, she still wasn’t home. Such a teenager.
I got tired of waiting and I took the little girls to Carl’s for lunch and down to my friends house to deliver her fudge. When I came back Tabitha was home but she had fallen asleep. Typical! I decided to let her sleep until Tiara’s new caretaker arrived. I figured she could help us during the pictures. We kept waiting and waiting and when she seemed to be 15 minutes late I finally checked my phone. She had texted me an hour ago and was sick. Ugh!!
Fine. I tried to wake up Tab and she didn’t move. OK, I will get the pictures myself. Well that didn’t work, especially after Tiara fell on the path and got covered in dirt. This is a funny picture of Trinity screaming to me that Tiara is starting to walk off by herself. Of course I knew because she was standing right next to me, but I love the expression on Trin’s face. I gave up the whole idea after 5 minutes and we went home.
When we got home I woke up the princess because she is in charge of making Sunday night dinner with Trinity and we didn’t have a plan or food and my parents were coming in an hour. The girls started fighting about what to serve and I just gave up. It is at this point, I sat down to write this and Tiara once again started to get into the crackers. I started yelling to stop and she responded with “you’re rude, you’re rude.” Yes, I was being rude but she won’t stop eating and I know she isn’t hungry. Every other day I buy a new set of child locks at Target and everyday she breaks one. I just wanted one moment of peace without yelling, eating, messes, dirty diapers, crackers on the floor, crayons thrown or Bailey following at my side.
So that is my story, not as bad as lots of days but guessing my PMS wasn’t helping!
