Well, late yesterday afternoon we were moved to the dungeon on the 2nd floor. We were greeted by few nurses who remember Tiara from January and they were very excited to see her again. The one nurse, Debbie, saw Tiara and said “ I’m trying, I’m trying”. Tiara is rather famous for that phrase and Debbie has been using it since January.
Oddly, even though she seems to be getting better she is much more tired the past 36 hours. Yesterday she refused to sit up or move to her wheelchair for the physical therapist even though she ad done it on Thursday. This morning her pulmonary doctor said she sounded good but she just needs more time. A few minutes after he left the attending doctor looked in on her and said “ she needs to move to the floor! I cannot justify keeping her in the ICU just because she isn’t eating. Once she eats she can go home.” I was so annoyed with him because we just got to this room and it is the 4th room we have moved to and she isn’t fine. She won’t wake up or eat and I don’t know why. Two days ago she was sitting up in her wheelchair and talking a bunch during the day. Today she has been awake for a total of 30 minutes. The nurse thinks it may be from the Methadone wean but she has been on Methadone for days now so I can’t quite figure it out. Feeling a little confused and frustrated.
I really wouldn’t care if she didn’t eat since she needs to lose weight but it is a sign she isn’t better and the hospital can’t release her until she is able to do all the basic bodily functions.
As for my Downton Abbey obsession, I just finished season 2 and am trying to figure out how to watch season 3. I was trying to download it from iTunes but my iPad memory is full and it isn’t working. I checked PBS.org and can’t find it there so I am super annoyed. I am sitting in this dark dreary room watching Tiara sleep and I can’t even finish watching my show. Well, I know it could be worse so enough complaining for me.
Hope you have a wonderful Saturday.

Poor TT, she needs time to feel 100%. She will get there.
Can you watch it on amazon?

I was going to ask about Amazon, too. Sorry that Tiara hasn’t been awake much and am totally still praying that she will get better quickly so you can go home now. Thinking of you both!!

I think Hulu has Downton abbey season 3. Do a free trial. Also, you can free up your iPad by deleting movies/ seasons. It will still remain in your iTunes storage for future use, you will just have to re-download whatever you deleted. However, if you use apple tv, you can access any deleted shows without downloading. Hope this makes sense!

You must be going crazy! Try watching Call the Midwife on Netflix. There’s only 6 episodes but it’s a great show! Hope Tiara starts eating soon so you can go home. Maybe she will when the effects of the methadone wear off.

I think she’s fine. But her body has been through a huge assault battling illness the past two weeks and the sleeping is how it recovers. Then she gets some energy, moves a bit and her body feels exhausted again.
Ever have an awful headache for hours? When it’s over, you can sleep for a full day because it takes so much out of you.
If her labs are good and lungs clear, home may be the best and safest (far less germy) place for you both.

Call the midwife is another Pbs show that you may like. There are lots of BBC shows you can do on netflix if you have that. Hope all gets resolved soon.

Brenna is totally weird after dialysis. Groggy and out of it. It seems to get worse when she has to skip a day or two. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but …
Also, not sure if you go the response to my other message. Dialysis does take some of the seizure meds out of the system. WE have to give Brenna a half dose of Keppra after dialysis. It’s not the same with the Lamictal, but definitely the Keppra. Maybe Tiara’s level of anti-convulsants is off. Kind of like suddenly stopping the meds? Just a thought. Praying for you. Praying the doctors will listen to you and get it right.
Hope you’re getting some rest. I can’t sleep worth a darn in the hospital.
Love you!
