Have you ever found the perfect granola? I have not, so one day I decided to make up my own recipe for granola. The only problem with making your own, is you may eat too much because it is so tasty but other than that one small downfall, you will love it.
Of course, I never even researched the proper technique or looked up a recipe, but today I made an really good batch, so I decided to pass along my technique.
4 cups old fashion rolled oats
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup natural maple syrup ( the good kind without any added junk added)
1 cup healthy type shredded coconut (Trader Joe’s just started carrying this product)
1 cup dried cranberries
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of vanilla
optional: almonds, raisins, anything else you may want to add.
Melt the butter in a saucepan then add the oats, vanilla, cranberries, coconut, maple syrup and cinnamon (basically everything!). Heat on low for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats look toasted and are a little crunchy. That is it.
I eat my granola on nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt most mornings.
ENJOY!

This looks delicious! I’ve never thought to make my own granola. My family would love it on their yogurt and/or ice cream. Have a great day! Stacie xo

My husband is constantly looking for a good granola. He says the best one he has found is at a casino in Reno ~ so needless to say he doesn’t get it that often.
I’ll have to share your recipe with him and see what he says!
