Quite the day already!

Nov. 20, 2013

tiffani goff at home

I actually had a decent night sleep last night and was contemplating if Tiara and I should go for a walk even though we didn’t have a walking partner when I received a text from our real estate agent.  “We have a showing request for 10am this morning.”  Well, it was 7:30am, Tiara was still asleep, Lou was gone to work, Tabitha was about to drive Trinity to school for me and like always I responded “OK.”  Every time he gets a request I always tell myself, “this could be the one, get your butt in gear and start cleaning!”

Just so you know, the housekeeper comes on Wednesday, so the house was extra dirty.  Yes, I still have a housekeeper even though we are broke.  Every time I try and do away with the extra help Lou goes crazy on me.  He insists I need the extra help and refuses to not have someone help me do the deep cleaning once a week.  Such a good guy.  He also knows that if I fire the housekeeper he will be cleaning showers on his day off, whenever that might occur. I seriously suck at cleaning showers.

Tabitha found this great app called Face in the Hole. Thought this would make you laugh!

Oh, back to the cleaning at hand.  So I first went out back and was moving a dead potted to the side of the house when I realized I had  succulent I could put in the pot.  Goodie me, out with old and in with the new.  As I was transplanting the succulent into the pot, I suddenly felt a sharp pain on my hand.  I kept working and when I finally looked at my hand there was a stinger.  Oh crap, I got stung my a bee.  I figured it was a bee since our neighbors have a hive and we always have almost dead bees lying around, so it is pretty common to get stung.  I ran inside and soaked my hand in water and luckily the stinger came right out.  No time for an injured hand when I had a whole house to clean in less than 2 hours.

Tiara was being an extra good girl for once and was actually watching a show and not destroying everything I cleaned, which was encouraging but I still was running out of time.  Luckily my Mother in law showed up at 9:00am to help.   She put Tiara down for a nap and then helped me finish.  We literally finished cleaning at 9:50 am, with no time to spare.  I woke Tiara up and put her in the car.  It was then that I realized I hadn’t brushed my hair, didn’t have a stitch of makeup on and I was wearing a crazy outfit.  Oh well, the ladies at Target won’t mind.

Yes, we went straight to the Target snack bar and there we saw Tiara’s old teacher, Miss Beth.  TT pulled her shy act when she saw Miss Beth, which means she covers her eyes and starts saying “shy, shy.”  She tried to sit down on a chair with her eyes covered and almost hit the ground.  Luckily I was able to maneuver her into  the chair without injuring either of us, but she still refused to look at her teacher.  Oh, TT!

After Target we went home and I started working on our Home Modification, again.  Well have you ever looked at  something and suddenly felt so overwhelmed you thought could never get through it?  That is exactly how I felt as I looked at all the papers I needed to organize and numbers I needed to fill in.  I hate numbers, budgets or anything to do with finances but since Lou is working so hard, I have offered to work on the modification, which I was seriously regretting at that moment.

I then tried entering some information online and it wasn’t working either.  I then decided, “this is too much for me today  I just can’t do it.  Maybe the people who looked at the house today will make an offer and all my work will be for nothing so maybe I should put it off for another day?  Good idea, go work on your blog instead, Tiffani.”  Of course I ignored the mantra I tell my girls everyday, “Don’t put for tomorrow what you can do today!”

I put everything away, picked up Trinity from school and then came home.  When Lou walked into the door he looked at me working on the computer and said “Did you do something with your hair, it looks good?”  I laughed and said, “yeah I never took a shower or put on make-up.”

lou:  “Oh, that is why you look so good.”

And all my worries went away.  How did I find a man who loves me this much?

Your Rocking Stone picture is really cute. I can’t even imagine how stressful it would be to show your house.

Who is tiffani?

Mom, Wife, author of Loving Tiara, retired home stager, and chronic volunteer. I laugh when I'm happy, nervous, or stressed, so basically, I'm always laughing, and you can hear me from down the block if the windows are open. I love to swear even though it isn't ladylike, and I'm brutally honest, but in a super nice way, or so I think? I tend to roll my eyes, and apparently, my face is very expressive because even when I don't open my mouth, everyone knows what I'm thinking. My hubby and I are homebodies; I'm obsessed with always doing the "right thing " and taking care of my skin. I love learning, am always trying to evolve as a human being, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Let's have some fun! xoxo tiffani
