I have gone from blonde, to red to auburn all in the course of 5 weeks. Today when I showed up at the color boutique, I was planning on changing my color to plain Jane brown, but I told Tina, she was in charge. Since she was the expert, I was going with whatever she thought was best except blonde, of course. On a side note, I am missing my blonde hair soooo much. I find myself staring at blonde women and thinking “one day, I too will be blonde again”. As I say that and I have those moments where I covet blonde hair, I am loving going through this change more than missing my blonde. I have weighed the pros and cons and the color journey always wins.
It is so liberating to just change your hair color and know that you will change it again in 5 to 6 weeks. It is really fun and it helps me to stay out of a rut. Luckily Tina is really good at making these drastic changes or I would be a bundle of nerves. The other cool thing is that I have to kinda reinvent my look every 6 weeks. At the end of my red head phase, I started wearing a low side bun, that I copied from my sister, which looked much better than my middle bun with the red hair. When I got home from the salon today, it was a mere 91 degrees so I had to put my hair up instantly. I went for my usual pony tail, but when that didn’t look quite right, I moved it to the side and I wasn’t happy with that either. Ok, I knew I needed to take a decent picture to share my new color with all of you, so I pulled out the curlers.
I am a serious sucker for big hair. I can literally roll my hair in hot rollers in 2 minutes and take them out 3 minutes later and I feel like I have gone to the spa for the day. Those of you who know me from the past, know I have always been into big hair. When hair straighteners first came out back when I was in college, I couldn’t figure out why for the life of me why someone would want their hair stick straight against their head. UGH… Of course while others were straightening I was going through a can of aqua net every week to keep my locks in place. I think I have finally found a happy medium between huge hair and normal puffy girl hair.
Ok, went off on a serious tangent, back to Tina. So, Tina decided that she didn’t want me to look ashy or for the brown to look super dyed, so she decided on a warm brown. The cool thing is that it came out more auburn than brunette, since she put it over the coppery red and I love it!!!. Plus, it has a little contrast, almost like she weaved in some different colors of browns and reds. I think I may keep this color more than 5 weeks. It seems much easier to deal with than the red and my complexion doesn’t look so red. Plus my cranky red head attitude has instantly been replaced by a rather sassy vixen attitude.
Once again thank you to my sponsor, Tina Scoville of the Color Boutique because without you, I would be missing out on all this fun!
