It was a little crazy, but fun…

May. 07, 2012

5 hours down, 1 hour left....

Well as you can see I ended up in the dreaded middle seat for the 6 hour drive home.  After contemplating who should be injured and abused stuck next to Tiara I decided I might as well do it since I am used to it.  Our original plan was to put her in front with Lou, since he drives the whole way, but he gets super irritated when she constantly asks him to grab her crayons, change the iPod song and get her photo albums, plus that is a little too much multitasking while driving.  So we took off this morning at 8am even though Lou was planning a leisurely departure after his morning swim.  His plans were immediately quashed the moment TT woke up at 6:15 and started yelling “HOME, HOME!!!”  Thank God, I was so ready to get out of that hotel room.  I never do well in hotels.  I can’t sleep and I usually have an allergy attack.  I jumped up and started packing and sent Louie for the coffee.

Once we were in the car Tiara immediately started pulling my hair and Lou kept trying to stop her.  I kept saying “I’ve got this, just keep your eyes on the road.”  He kept saying, “It doesn’t look like you’ve got this.”  And so this was our conversation off and on the whole ride home.  I only had one bad injury as you can see from the picture, but it was actually a fun ride.

Lou tends to get really stressed and serious on the car rides and I get completely crazy.  I act like a lunatic and start laughing and cracking jokes and telling obnoxious stories.  The problem is when I get too riled up that is when TT goes crazy.  Whenever I laugh really loud, she gets anxious and that is how I got this little hand mark.  I was hysterical because my butt was totally numb and Tabitha kept taking these crazy pictures of herself, and Lou kept telling us to calm down.  Whenever he reprimands us we tease him more and then I constantly threaten to take his phone away if I catch him looking down at it.  Pretty funny.

As for the rest of the weekend, we had a great time.  We had an awesome dinner at the Casatico’s on Friday night and they made all our favorites.  Prime Rib on the BBQ for everyone and Salmon for me.  Tiara actually had so much fun, we stayed for 3 hours and she didn’t destroy their house at all which is always a plus.

After dinner we went back to the hotel and Tiara loved the beds.  Trinity loves every vacation, every hotel, she just likes to go out of town.  If you invited her to Riverside for the night to sleep over at a Motel 6 she would be excited, so I never have to worry about her.  We once went to San Diego for the night and Tiara hated the hotel room the moment we walked in.  After she cried for an hour, we got in the car and drove home.  So each time we take her into a new hotel room, we kinda hold our breath and pray she will like it.

Saturday morning we woke up and I discovered the rash had moved to my face.  I had 3 red dots under my eye.  I was so pissed that doctor wouldn’t give me the steroid shot on Thursday and I hadn’t started the oral steroids because I hate taking those and now it was on my face.  Well, believe I started on that prednisone pack right after I looked in the mirror. I stayed in the hotel all morning with TT while she rested and Lou and Trin went swimming and to the airport to put up Tabitha.  Once Tabi arrived we all went  to downtown Danville for lunch at Pete’s Brass Rail with the Heinrich family.  Love the Heinrich’s!  Louie is obsessed with Downtown and we have to eat at Pete’s every time we are in Danville or he gets depressed.  I am personally not a fan, but whatever.

After lunch we regrouped and headed to Oakland for Connie’s 60th birthday.  Every one had a great time, especially Trinity.  She found a friend and they had to best time ever.  They made us all dress up in Cinco de Mayo attire and take pictures in garden.

You forgot the most “funny” aspect of your trip (In’n’ out), but it’s probably better left out for Trinity’s sake.

Tiff-So glad to spend lunch with you, Lou and the girls! Hopefully I didn’t embarrass Tabi too much by bringing it to everyone’s attention how “beautiful she is”!! I almost died when she covered her face, too funny! Aww TT was “So Good” and I loved sitting across from Trinity…her nick name should be “Smiley” just like her daddy:))  You say you love The Heinrich’s well …We love the Goffs <3

Who is tiffani?

Mom, Wife, author of Loving Tiara, retired home stager, and chronic volunteer. I laugh when I'm happy, nervous, or stressed, so basically, I'm always laughing, and you can hear me from down the block if the windows are open. I love to swear even though it isn't ladylike, and I'm brutally honest, but in a super nice way, or so I think? I tend to roll my eyes, and apparently, my face is very expressive because even when I don't open my mouth, everyone knows what I'm thinking. My hubby and I are homebodies; I'm obsessed with always doing the "right thing " and taking care of my skin. I love learning, am always trying to evolve as a human being, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Let's have some fun! xoxo tiffani
