I wasn’t going to post, but then I couldn’t stop writing…

Aug. 24, 2012

my basket at Shinoda….

I just sat down to write a little blurb about how I wasn’t going to post today and yet here I am writing.  A normal person would just not bother to post anything, but then again we all know I am far from normal. So I might as well keep going and tell you about my day.

So today I was in full reunion mode trying to figure out my decorating scheme for Saturday.  Our reunion is super low key at a pizza parlor so trying to “class” it up is lame, so my other option was going with the school colors.  I had decided to go with school colors but I couldn’t bring myself to buy them as I just wasn’t feeling it.  I have done lots of parties in the past and I always operate the same.  I get a theme going, I visual the end result and then go on a shopping mission which usually takes a few days.  In the end I am always happy with my result but the problem is I always plan my final look without determining if the products I need are available.  Hummm, you would think I would learn by now, but no.

So today, I went out shopping and was still not feeling totally committed to my school theme.  I called one of my best friends Sam, who is super creative, and has offered to help me set up on Saturday.  She has never seen the venue but I described to her in detail what I was going for.  She was quiet for a moment and then said,  “we need to go full 80’s cheesy, no school colors.  Neons, mirrors, full cheese!!”  “Ohh, you are so right.”  I replied.  She then went on to describe her vision and we made a plan.  Tiara’s new caretaker was here and Trinity had a play-date, but Oh well, but Trinity and her friend got to accompany me to Shinoda and 2 party stores.  They loved looking at all the decorations at Shinoda.

Guess what?  Our main decorating idea which I am keeping a secret, was to be found no where in Orange County or Los Angeles County.  Sam in staying in Manhattan Beach and we were texting pictures back and forth all day as we each hit different stores but neither of us found exactly what we were looking for.  I came home at 4pm and jumped on the computer and figured, I’ll just pay the extra FedEx shipping, this is an emergency.  Guess what, they didn’t even have what we wanted online.  Seriously, it isn’t that original, but I bet I will see the item within a few months.  Either way Sam and I had to improvise but I think it is going to work out just fine.  As long as I get up and finish everything on my list tomorrow with Tiara in tow.

Wish me luck!!

I have days like this, too, where I think I have nothing to write and then somehow it all comes together. I hope you have lots of fun with the reunion! Good luck.

Good day! I’m sure that is kinda off topic nevertheless I’d figured I’d ask. Would you be keen on exchanging links or even guest writing a blog post or vice-versa? My blog covers use many of the same topics as yours and that i feel we could greatly make use of the other person. If you happen to become do shoot me an email. I expect talking with you! Wonderful blog by the way!

Who is tiffani?

Mom, Wife, author of Loving Tiara, retired home stager, and chronic volunteer. I laugh when I'm happy, nervous, or stressed, so basically, I'm always laughing, and you can hear me from down the block if the windows are open. I love to swear even though it isn't ladylike, and I'm brutally honest, but in a super nice way, or so I think? I tend to roll my eyes, and apparently, my face is very expressive because even when I don't open my mouth, everyone knows what I'm thinking. My hubby and I are homebodies; I'm obsessed with always doing the "right thing " and taking care of my skin. I love learning, am always trying to evolve as a human being, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Let's have some fun! xoxo tiffani
