I feel like Tiara when I make that statement, “I did it, I did it!” Yesterday that guy made me so mad when he offered me $150 for all my stuff, I felt personally challenged. I should call him and thank him because as of right now I am $255 dollars richer and I haven’t sold everything yet.
I have sold the 2 biggest pieces and the pictures which is great. In addition Lou was so excited he could access his junk he started going through his 2 tubs of stuff. Every time I clean out the garage this same thing happens. He looks at his old salesman manuals, which he refuses to let me throw away and goes through his old pictures and an envelope with stuff from his grandfather. He pulled out coins his grandfather gave him and talked about selling them.
Yes, “Let’s sell them!” I immediately jumped on it since this is the first time he has even contemplated selling them. I called a local coin dealer and guess what? The price of gold went up today so they offered me almost $1300 bucks for the 2 coins. Oh Yay!!! I was about to get in my car and speed down there when he said, “Oh, that is great, but I don’t want to sell them.”
me: ‘What, why not?”
him: “Well, the price of gold might go up?”
me: “No the price of gold has been going up for over 3 years and now it is going down.”
him: “You do some research on the price of gold and let me know what you find.”
Five minutes later I am reading him headlines about the price of gold which has steadily fallen over the past 4 months but did go up suddenly today! It’s an sign, we should sell them, I tell him.
him: “Why, sell, we have enough money for food, we aren’t starving Tiffani.”
me: ” I am trying to clear out all the stuff in our lives we don’t use and yes we aren’t starving but we could totally use $1300 dollars!”
Hmmmmm, he walks off and returns 2 minutes later and says this to me:
” I don’t want to sell them, just because, but if you think it is the right time and you want to do it, you know where they are. Love you.”
And once again my sweet husband has managed to turn the job over to me to make the decision and do the work and make me feel guilty in the process. A true salesman for you. I am thinking I am going to sell them tomorrow. I will let you know on Monday. I’m going to sleep on it.
As for the weekend we have an open house planned for Saturday from noon until 4pm and Tiara has been helping me prepare as you can see from the photos below.
I heard her sitting in the hallway on Wednesday night talking to herself saying “Oh, red, like it. Purple, pretty.” All of the sudden I heard Tabitha yell, “Ohhhhhhh” I came walking up to see my hallway walls covered in crayon with Tiara sitting on the ground happy as a clam just drawing away with the pad of paper right next to her. I screamed, scolded her, removed her from the area and finished what I was doing.
Ten minutes later I heard Trinity scream as she exited her room and saw the mural. She then walked into the kitchen, went under the sink, grabbed the magic sponge, wet it and went to work in the hall cleaning off all the crayon for me. I said nothing to her as she did it and then thanked her over and over again when she was done. It was so great having her do that for me without even having to ask. I think she was as horrified as me and knew I was probably too upset to tackle the job at that exact moment.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and PLEASE if you an agent, bring your buyers to my house on Saturday.
xoxo tiffani

I had a lot of old gold from my teen years (ex boyfriend who gifted me a bit) and made a good amount of money on this about 2 years ago. I say go for it, but that is just me. Good luck this weekend and thinking of you!! 🙂 xoxo!!

Good luck with your decision … you’ll be able to come to the right one I’m sure.
And I hope you have stock in the magic sponges — I’m sure I’ll need to invest myself soon.

Hope, hope, hope your open house goes fabulous. You are such the trooper not to crack like a egg when you saw that crayon. And yes. $1,300. That’s amazing. I would sell. I’m with you. Too much stuff is cluttering our lives.
