Home is where the heart is…

Apr. 29, 2013

Tiffani goff at home

Happy Monday everyone!  Tiara is still here at Choc but she seems to be feeling better.  We realized she was allergic to the antibiotic that was treating her 3 infections because her mouth broke out in cold sores.  I knew it might happen and was on the look out for any allergic signs because it is in the same subclass as Augmentin to which she is allergic.  Because they are trying to treat the pneumonia and 2 different bacteria in the urinary tract with one drug they don’t have tons of choices.  She has been on so many IV antibiotics this year they are really trying to be careful and limit them as much as possible.

Either way by Sunday night she was acting more herself and did something she has never done before.  She said Tabitha’s complete name!  In 14 years she has never called Tabitha, Tabitha, only Habi. I was so excited when she did it we made a video but I am not quite sure how to post it from my ipad and too tired to figure it out, sorry.

Today she is having the swallow study and hopefully we will get to go home by Tuesday.  I would say Today but I doubt it will happen since no one has even mentioned our return home.  I went home on Friday to spend time with the girls for the night and when I walked into her hospital room on Saturday morning I found Louie in the middle of a diaper change while Tiara laughed at him.  She thinks it is so funny when we struggle to roll her back and forth, she just laughs as we change her diaper.

Once he finished she looked at me and said “ Mom, you’re home!” She pulled me into a big bear hug and kept saying , “ohhhh, mom, mom, home, home”. You think I had been gone a week, not 15 hours, she was so excited to see me.  I was so happy to see her and all I could think about was that saying “home is where the heart is.”  My heart is always with my children and Lou,and Tiara knows I will make a home for us wherever we sleep, be it at the hospital, a hotel or our house. As long as we are together, we are home.

Have a great day!

xoxo tiffani

Tiffani so true about home is where the heart is. So happy to hear she is doing better and even said Tabitha’s name for the very first time. Awesome!! by the way, my younger daughter was given augmentin for a persistent ear infection and she too had an allergic reaction. So, I always make sure she doesn’t get that again if and when she needs an antibiotic prescribed. So, yes I can relate to that one. Hope Tiara is home again real soon 🙂

Who is tiffani?

Mom, Wife, author of Loving Tiara, retired home stager, and chronic volunteer. I laugh when I'm happy, nervous, or stressed, so basically, I'm always laughing, and you can hear me from down the block if the windows are open. I love to swear even though it isn't ladylike, and I'm brutally honest, but in a super nice way, or so I think? I tend to roll my eyes, and apparently, my face is very expressive because even when I don't open my mouth, everyone knows what I'm thinking. My hubby and I are homebodies; I'm obsessed with always doing the "right thing " and taking care of my skin. I love learning, am always trying to evolve as a human being, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Let's have some fun! xoxo tiffani
