Well, this huge mound of clothes covering my entire sectional is a common scene in my home. I have issues with laundry. All of my children wear several outfits each day and Tiara loves to change her clothes approximately 5 to 8 times per day. As a result the laundry is daunting and I don’t like to admit that one of my greatest purposes in life is to complete this task. I mean shouldn’t I be doing something more important with my life than washing and folding everyday, all day? Well, as a result I have developed a rather unconventional approach to the laundry. I make a huge pile in the garage of all the dirty clothes and continue to add to the pile daily. I wash load after load each day but I do not fold the loads until the pile of clean clothes on top of the washer/dryer is a mountain of huge proportions. I then carry in about 8 loads and throw it on my couch. I then fold, well if you can actually call it folding. My mother and mother -in-law cringe when they see my folding techniques, they actually can’t watch, it is too upsetting. I figure why waste all this time folding everything perfect when it will end up on the floor. I do attempt to fold the towels decently but that is about it. I mean look at this pile of clothes in both Tabitha and Tiara’s room. Tabitha is notorious for having a messy room, but now her sisters have learned to follow suit. Trinity is a little better than the others but not by much.
It is very clear, I have failed as a mother. I mean what kind of mother allows this happen in her home? Either a weak, sloppy and pathetic excuse for a mom or a mom who has decided she has bigger battles to fight. I am labeling myself the latter of the two. Believe me I still get mad and yell about the messy rooms but I have had to let my type A personality take a break in this life. So the moral of the story is when you are feeling super frustrated that your house is a mess and your kids are slobs. Think of me and my mounds of laundry everywhere all the time and you might feel a little bit better about your house. Happy Thursday…
