The good news is that I am feeling better about myself today and didn’t hold on to my shame for too long. The person I hurt isn’t mad at me because they know I was trying to help, so I have been forgiven. Thank goodness! So that issue is resolved for the moment.
The great news is one of my very wise and loyal readers gave me a fabulous idea. Marcy (my wise reader) writes the most beautiful and insightful comments to my posts on a regular basis but after yesterday’s post she wrote this:
“maybe you have a calling that you haven’t realized….something that wants to be put into action in your life, and because you haven’t done that yet, it’s coming out in areas that aren’t as productive??”
Marcy’s calling is to help and heal people but after she wrote that comment I spent some time thinking about my calling.
Ever since I started this blog I have known in my heart it was something I was meant to do. I love it and it helps people on some level. I have always enjoyed helping people. Whether it is helping my friends with their problems, making Easter baskets for the Children at Orangewood, talking with other TSC families or donating my time for the school, I love to be involved. Unfortunately because I am home caring for Tiara, I am limited in what I can actually do for others at this point in my life. Then an idea sprang!
What if I could help others through my blog in a different way?
I know reading about my life helps families with special needs children remember they aren’t alone and it also helps bring real life perspective to those of you who don’t have a special needs person in your life. But instead of only talking about my problems what if I helped other people with their problems?
No, I am not a trained psychotherapist or marriage and family counselor or a psychiatrist but I am educated and have pretty good handle on real life issues. So why not. Readers private message me or email me all the time telling me about themselves and the struggles they have endured. So maybe they wonder “what would Tiffani do in this situation?”
I first asked Lou his opinion and his response was “Well, honey if you think it is a good idea, I’m sure it is.” Such the salesman, no real answer, just reaffirming what I said. Thanks Love, time to ask someone else. A Girlfriend. Gotta love girlfriends!
I then called 2 of my best friends and asked them their opinion. My first friend said she liked the idea and to “go for it”. My second friend also thought it was a great idea and helped me work out how I would present the idea to you.
The thing is this, I love to learn about people and help them with their problems. Not everyone has problems as big as mine, BUT they are still problems that need solving and I have an opinion about most everything. Sometimes asking an impartial person their opinion is helpful, so why not ask me? Kinda like a Dear Abby/Dr. Laura person via a blog.
You can ask me about any problem, whether it be a question about your relationship with your husband, a friend, a co-worker issue, problems with your children, or how to navigate and get help from a doctor’s office. Anything really.
If I think I can help, I will post your question on my blog and answer it. So not only will you get my opinion but if my readers comment you will have the opportunity to get their opinions too. I of course will have your email, but I will never share it with anyone or disclose your identity.
So let’s review my idea:
1.
If you have a problem you and would like my opinion,
or directly at
tiffani@tiffanigoff.com
2.
I will read all emails and let you know if I am able to comment.
3.
I will keep your email private at all times.
4.
I will publish only your first name on my blog, or whatever name you want me to use. You can make one up if you want!
5.
I am going to reserve the right to not answer any question that is out of my league or I feel uncomfortable answering. I will email everyone back who sends me a question and let them know if I can or can’t respond to their question
6.
Since I am not a trained therapist my responses will be based on the premise “What Would tiffani Do” in the same situation. Hence the name of my new series is “What Would Tiffani Do?”
7.
I plan on posting the questions and answers on Thursday.
Now I just need some problems to address, DON’T BE SHY, ask away!
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND and please send me your questions!

I will definitely stay tuned to see the hair. My daughter tried to get a blue streak dyed in her hair yesterday — a birthday wish — and it really didn’t take. I guess we are going to try again next week. And I think your idea is a great one. I think you are a very wise woman . . . TTFN.

OMG Tiffani!
This is brilliant. And I am so honored to be a part of your inspiration . I admire how you “just do it”. That’s a very important quality in success, and you are rocking it!
