Do you decorate spooky or sweet?

Watch out for flying bats!

Do you decorate scary for Halloween or make a cute fall display with hay, smiling jack-o-lanterns and gourds?  I use to do the latter but a few years ago I got tired of the “perfect” Martha Stewart fall look with the stacked Cinderella pumpkins, and so I switched to scary decorations.

The switch didn’t cost me much because all you really need is cobwebs which you can buy at the 99 cent store.  Every year I add a few new items to the collection.  This year I added the hanging limbs from the tree, the scary picture and the Beware tape.  Once again I found all this stuff at the 99 cent store so I only spent 8 dollars on decorations this year.

I will buy a few pumpkins for carving but I refuse to spend 50$ on a bunch of pumpkins that will get tossed in November.   Pre-recession I used to line my walk way with pumpkins, oh how I miss those days!  Oh well, if I really want more pumpkins I can just grow them in my yard next year.

See the dried corn stalks in the background of this picture? These are from my garden!

I have to say I really had fun decorating today.  I felt like my old self again.

See the hanging leg and hand. Love those!

Hope prospective buyers are scared off even more than before!

This is my favorite decoration this year. The picture changes…..

Have a wonderful weekend and if you haven’t yet decorated, hope I inspired you to get on it.

I did corn my own corn this summer but it didn’t taste very good. It was kinda chewy, so glad at least i had the stalks for decorations. xoxo tiffani

I just erased my long-A comment on my phone. Ugh. Love the cobwebs. Will have to get them for our porch.

Halloween is one of the holidays that are just kind of so so for me. I could care less either way. I don’t decorate for it actually but I don’t mind dressing up and going to parties. Now that Rey is starting to get more involved I think it might change.
And I’m so glad you found your phone!!

Who is tiffani?

Mom, Wife, author of Loving Tiara, retired home stager, and chronic volunteer. I laugh when I'm happy, nervous, or stressed, so basically, I'm always laughing, and you can hear me from down the block if the windows are open. I love to swear even though it isn't ladylike, and I'm brutally honest, but in a super nice way, or so I think? I tend to roll my eyes, and apparently, my face is very expressive because even when I don't open my mouth, everyone knows what I'm thinking. My hubby and I are homebodies; I'm obsessed with always doing the "right thing " and taking care of my skin. I love learning, am always trying to evolve as a human being, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Let's have some fun! xoxo tiffani
