Monday morning I woke up early because we had a house showing scheduled at 11:15am and I had to get Trinity to rowing camp at 9:00am. Lately I have been sleeping until whenever Tiara wakes up. Lou got home the night before at 9:30 pm just before Tiara finally succumbed to sleep while waiting for him to get home. She missed seeing him by minutes.
He then had to leave again at 6:30 this morning for an early meeting. As soon as Tiara woke up at 7:00am she started asking for her Dad. By 7:45 am she was already driving me crazy asking for her Dad over and over again. At this point I knew it was going to be a very long day.
We all left the house at 8:45am to drop Trinity off at rowing camp. Tabitha waited in the car with Tiara while I walked Trinity into her rowing camp. I stood there for 10 minutes waiting for it to start, which really started to stress me out because I hate when anything starts late. Once they started at 9:15am, I ran out to the car, feeling a little panicked for some reason and Tabitha was in tears. Apparently my physic sixth sense was totally in tune to the fact that something was going wrong in the car.
Tiara who had already been in a bad mood that morning had hurt Tabitha while I was inside with Trinity. Tiara apologized the whole way home but it didn’t make either of us feel better. It breaks my heart when Tiara hurts anyone but me. I can take it, but it is so wrong for her to injure her sisters, it makes me feel like I have been beaten myself.
Once I finally got home, it was 9:30am and I needed to get the house ready for the showing and be out by 11am. The house was a total disaster at this point. As you can see from the picture below every room in the house needed serious picking up, in addition to sweeping, swifting and wiping down walls, counters and windows.
Luckily I got one break, Tiara fell asleep. Thank you Lord! I got everything cleaned up except the pile of laundry in my bedroom. I ran out of time and had to shove the clean laundry in an empty space in the closet. Oh well, I doubt they noticed. I woke Tiara up, changed her diaper, put her in the car and was out of the house with 2 minutes to spare. The rest of the day didn’t get much better except when Lou came home early which was a huge surprise and a big treat.
The second he walked in the door at 4:30 everyone was much happier. We took Tiara for a walk in her wheelchair and now he is playing with the girls in the backyard while I make dinner and finish up this post. Life is so much easier when he is home. The old adage “distance makes the heart grow fonder” is so true. He is hardly ever home but once he is it feels like a gift which makes everyone happy, including me.
Happy Tuesday!

I know that feeling and sounds like when my husband is home, too! And I too worked ll day, because it was Monday and even though Kevin had off he had work to catch up on, so we were both so busy working. Thankfully the girls were entertained and playing for quite a bit of it, but I feel guilty that I was working so much, so today I will try to make it up to my girls. Still wishing you luck on your house. Fingers crossed!!! 🙂 xoxo!!
