auntie T’s famous chocolate chip cookies

Mar. 15, 2012

Auntie T’s Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies
My nephew, Indiana, calls me “Auntie T” and  he is always telling me my cookies are famous, hence the name.   They are only famous to my friends and family but they always disappear quickly where ever I bring them.  The secret to making really great cookies is in the mixing and the baking.  Most chocolate chip cookie recipes are basically the same, but I always add extra vanilla and cook them on aluminum foil on the baking sheets, this is the real secret……
  • 2 cubes of real butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 1/4 cups unbleached flour
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
Pre heat oven to 375 degrees.  Mix the butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla in a kitchen aid, with a hand mixer or last resort stir by hand.  Really mix until it is creamy, fluffy and almost white.  Add the flour and soda and only mix until all the ingredients are combined.  Do not over mix at this stage.  Add the chocolate chip and stir until mixed.  Line the cookie sheets with foil.  Use a tablespoon to scoop the dough and place onto the cookie sheets. I usually get 15 cookies per sheet, but I use the big cookie sheets.    Bake for 10-12 minutes, but DO NOT OVERCOOK.  If your cookies look raw but not raw enough to get salmonella poisoning, they are done.  Lift the foil onto the counter and let cool.  ENJOY!

    Hi Tiffany,
I’m always looking for new ways to tweak my chocolate chip cookie recipe, they always seem to turn out a little different each time I bake them so I’m going to try your recipe.Thanks!!!.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. You will need 1 cup of butter for the recipe. Hope you have a fun event!

Who is tiffani?

Mom, Wife, author of Loving Tiara, retired home stager, and chronic volunteer. I laugh when I'm happy, nervous, or stressed, so basically, I'm always laughing, and you can hear me from down the block if the windows are open. I love to swear even though it isn't ladylike, and I'm brutally honest, but in a super nice way, or so I think? I tend to roll my eyes, and apparently, my face is very expressive because even when I don't open my mouth, everyone knows what I'm thinking. My hubby and I are homebodies; I'm obsessed with always doing the "right thing " and taking care of my skin. I love learning, am always trying to evolve as a human being, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Let's have some fun! xoxo tiffani
