I started feeling a little depressed today as I read all the kind, thoughtful and wonderfully supportive comments people made regarding my posts this week. Everyone was so nice, but boy did my life sound like a nightmare. In writing my posts I really have to revisit how my day went and focus on my life. This is new for me! It appears not thinking about my daily struggles has been a great coping mechanism for me throughout the years. I don’t usually think about what happened yesterday or how will Tiara act tomorrow. I just try to get by each day with a smile on my face and not dwell on my situation. Focusing on the negative has never worked for me, so today I want share some great stuff that happened in the Goff home this week.
Trinity will be double digits (10 years old) on April 5. She recently dropped her Itouch and the screen shattered. It still worked but then it went missing. As a huge surprise, Tabitha my employed 19 year old, decided to buy Trinity a new Itouch for her birthday. She ordered it online and when it arrived two days ago, she was so excited she gave it to Trinity right then. Trinity went so crazy she started shaking and crying. She was over the moon happy and much to Tabitha’s dismay, kept kissing and hugging Tabitha. Those two have a rather turbulent relationship and for some reason are always fighting. Trinity is always trying to get Tabitha’s attention by doing goofy things and then Tabitha gets mad. The fact that Tabitha bought Trinity the gift she has been coveting was so special because it brought them closer together. Sometimes a material gift can really mend fences.
In addition to this, Trinity has been really practicing her violin so she could move to the front row in music class. The front row is where all the best musicians get to play. Her music teacher was really sweet about the snapped bow last week and replaced it for her the same day. On Tuesday she was moved to the front row. Yeah!
Last but not least, I registered Trinity for Junior Lifeguards today and got a spot in the morning session. Another amazing feat.
Off to the kitchen to make homemade pizza and get out my bottle of Chardonnay!
